It is difficult to detail a "standard" configuration for the equipment manufactured by J-W Custom Manufacturing Company. We prefer to use the word "typical", because the actual configuration is whatever you, the customer, dictates. The term "standard" implies that you will be forced to accept a configuration that does not meet your exact needs. This is why we call ourselves J-W Custom Manufacturing Company, instead of J-W Standard Manufacturing Company.

  • Typical single axle is 150" cab to axle, 168" for tandem
  • We can build on any manufacturer's chassis. You can furnish your chassis or we can furnish a chassis at your request. Our staff will be happy to work with you in ordering your chassis to the specifications that best suit your individual needs.

• Hydraulic System:
  
  • Typical hydraulic installation is a Sauer Danfoss (Sundstrand) 8 cubic inch hydraulic pump, electronically controlled, and a Sauer Danfoss 8 cubic inch hydraulic motor
  • We can and have used almost all hydraulic systems, Sauer Danfoss, Rexroth, DynaPower, and Dennison. We can supply parts, service, and installation for all of these systems.
  • Direct drive Rexroth systems are also available

• Transmission:

• Heating & Cooling:
  
  • Coleman Mach IV 13,500Btu 110V roof mount air conditioner with heat
  • Carrier EM7 12V DC air conditioner tied to chassis compressor is available. (This air conditioner allows you to lessen generator load, cool recorder cabin en route to location, and have an air conditioner if your safety procedures require you to have your 110V system turned off until perforating guns are at least 300 feet below surface.
  • Other makes and sizes of roof mount air conditioners are also available
  • Underseat heater tied to chassis heater, 30,000 Btu

While we offer a typical unit that will fit almost every need, we still customize each unit to fit your specific needs and wants. We build and have built on almost every chassis type available. We use all manufacturers of hydraulic systems, weight and measurement systems, and we arrange and configure your truck to fit your specific operation.

CHASSIS

We will build on any chassis that you want to supply. We ask that you work with our staff to ensure that the chassis ordered will be configured to best suit your needs. We can help you with horsepower requirements, weight requirements, electronics requirements, exhaust requirements, and specifications that will help make your chassis the most economical and best suited unit for your needs.

DRUMS

We offer just about every size and type of drum available. If you have a very specific need, we will work with you to ensure that your truck is equipped to handle exactly the job that you will require of it.

On a normal cased hole truck, an "850" series single drum will handle 90% of requirements. This drum is capable of holding 25,000' of 5/16" line; and can be used with a single axle chassis. If you need a smaller line because of pressure requirements, we can offer a "950" series split drum. This drum will hold 25,000' of 5/16" line on one side, and 25,000' of 7/32" line on the other. A split drum will require a tandem axle chassis.

We can provide many other size options on drums, and we can provide drums made of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, or Jessup-core.

HYDRAULICS

We are able to offer you the widest range of hydraulic systems in the industry. We can install Dyna-Power, Sauer-Danfoss (Sundstrand), Dennison, and Rexroth systems. We can build both chain and direct drive systems. We can tailor pump sizes, sprocket ratios, and transmissions to find the optimum speed and pulling power solutions for your specific requirements. We can offer variable speed, three-and four-speed, and neutrals to fit your needs.

POWER GENERATION

Again, we offer the widest ranging solutions in the industry. PTO-driven Mobile Powers and hydraulic generators are available. Mobile Powers can be purchase in 5kW and 7.5kW increments. Hydraulic generators can range from 10kW to 30kW. We can offer diesel driven gensets. We can even offer a combination of these units to give you backup options in the field. We also offer inverters to run your computer and other instruments.

WEIGHT AND MEASUREMENT

Want an SIE type measuring head? Prefer a Kerr? Digital Technology your thing; or are you more comfortable with a tried-and true Martin Decker? You get to make the call. Is an overhead spooler better suited for your needs or will a boat-type steering be more comfortable. Once again, you get to make the call; we don't make it for you.

PROFILE

You can get your cabin entry door on the driver's side, or, if you prefer, you can request it on the passenger side. Round and slope backs are available. Our most common units are built on 150" cab-to-axle single axles, and 168" cab-to-axle tandems. However, other lengths are available. Standard headroom is 6'4.5", but we can make your unit taller or shorter. Underbelly tool racks, grease systems with power reels, and downhole tool racks with airbags are just some of the many features and options you can request.
